Our research program seeks to contribute to protecting and empowering the public, improving legal practice, and ultimately making justice more accessible and equitable. Our focus will be on longer-term projects that support the strategic goals of VLSB+C, supplement its existing programs, and provide cutting-edge research that has appeal and relevance to the public, lawyers and consumers of legal services in Victoria and beyond.
Through its work, the Legal Services Research Centre will help advance the global movement towards a ‘bottom-up’ approach to justice, which is focused on the needs and capabilities of the public.
Our remit is broad, reflecting the breadth of the challenge. Our research involves those who experience justice and those who seek to deliver it – the public, legal services, and the processes that connect them.
